China: Asian Games 2010 will cost about $ 18 billion

Luong Van Khanh ,mayor of Guangzhou said funding that the host city for the Asian Games Main (Asian Games, ASIAD) in 2010 reached 18.37 billion U.S. dollars. This figure includes all expenses for organizing the Asian Games for athletes with disabilities (Asian Paragames) ensued.

According to Mayor Van, 16.33 billion of the $ 18.37 billion was used to renovate, upgrade and build new infrastructure for the event, including building a new subway system, projects for environmental protection and water treatment. Another $ 1.09 billion was spent on the activities of organizations promoting the Asian Games.

70 venues of 2010 Olympics Asia consumes only from the budget of 994 million. Of these, 12 places for new construction, 58 places remaining to be renovated, upgraded and expanded to create the best conditions for more than 10,000 athletes from 45 countries and territories to compete.
